We're happy to offer you another exciting collab update to mark our 10th anniversary! Before we dive into the details, check out what our devs have to say about the collaboration! 【▼Developer's Video▼】
[Summoners War x The Witcher]
By following the trace of monsters, the Witcher characters arrive at the Sky Island. They realize something sinister is happening on the Sky Island. To protect the Sky Island, you'll be accompanied by the characters from The Witcher. Let's take a look at how these characters have been reproduced in Summoners War style.
The Witcher games are based on the universe created by Polish author, Andrzej Sapkowski in his series of Witcher books. This is an action role-playing game set in a fictional fantasy world based on Slavic mythology. Players control Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer for hire known as a Witcher, in search of his adopted daughter Ciri, who is on the run from the otherworldly Wild Hunt. The Witcher has three main series, and it has sold 75 million copies worldwide ever since its release in 2007. And this is the part where it gets even more exciting - who are the collab characters? Among the characters from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, we decided to make [Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, and Triss], the protagonists and central characters, as the collab characters. Geralt, a legendary Witcher who wields Silver Sword and Steel Sword, Ciri, an adopted daughter of Geralt and also another protagonist of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Yennefer, a charming sorceress who uses powerful magic, and Triss have been brought into Summoners War while retaining their original tone. Just like the previous collab, there is no non-awakened form for collab characters. They will be added as the awakened form with their original names. Geralt, the main character of the series, will be added as Nat 5 character for all attributes. Ciri, Yennefer, and Triss will be added as either Nat 4 or Nat 5 characters depending on their attributes. The Witcher boasts a unique art style and distinctive characters. We'd like to talk about the collab characters' skills. Unlike the original game, Yennefer and Triss will be playable characters in Summoners War with new skills. We're sure the fans of the original game will find this intriguing. Check out the skill of each collab character in the table below!
For the ones that weren't covered in this Developer's Note, please check them once the update goes live! To give you a heads up, you'll be able to get Water Geralt for free via an event. With Water Geralt's Whirl and Rend, you'll be able to find success in various content! That's not everything! There are various collab exclusive content updates as well. We'll walk you through each content.

[Kaer Morhen]
▶ Kaer Morhen, the Stronghold of the School of the Wolf, is coming to the Sky Island. Kaer Morhen is one of the backgrounds for the main story of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Various stories about Geralt and his allies revolve around this place. Through Kaer Morhen, you'll be able to carry out missions and play special content during the collab. By entering, you can check which collab content is available as follows.
[Collab Exclusive Content: Gwent] The special content is called Gwent, a mini card game from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In Gwent, you build your deck with various cards to play against the in-game NPCs. While preparing for this collab update, we thought adding Gwent in Summoners War would make this collab update more comprehensive. Furthermore, we decided to design the cards with Summoners War Monsters instead of using the original cards to make this content more unique. Here are some of the cards we created!
Cool, right? You can see Lushen from Summoners War as well as Geralt and Yennefer from The Witcher. By collecting these cards and playing Gwent, you'll be able to enjoy this collab update even more since this is something you've never experienced before in Summoners War. Now, let's learn about the features of Gwent. ▶ There are 80 Gwent cards in total. (73 Summoners War cards + 7 The Witcher cards) ▶ Durand Deck consisting of 20 cards will be provided after the update goes live. (10 Durand Deck Cards + 10 Neutral Cards) ▶ There are 5 NPCs you can play against, for up to 9 weeks. You'll play against a new opponent or new deck every week. ▶ You can acquire new Gwent cards upon beating an NPC. These cards can be used to enhance your deck. : Collect 80 Gwent cards by battling NPCs, entering events, and clearing missions! Now, let's see how Gwent works in Summoners War. [Preparation - Deck Building] ▶ You need a deck with at least 20 cards to play the game. : Upon your first entry, you'll be provided with Durand's deck for free (20 cards). You can unlock Reina and Lycana decks as you progress in Gwent. ▶ Select a faction and build your card deck. : There are three leaders: Durand, Lycana, and Reina. You can create a deck for each leader. : Only the faction cards that match each leader can be used to build your deck. Cards of other factions cannot be used. However, neutral cards can be used for any faction. ▶ Card Type There are two types of cards: Character Card and Special Effect Card. [Character Card]
All Character cards have Attack Power which is displayed on the card as a number. They can be placed on the battlefield depending on which battlefield is displayed on the card (Melee, Ranged, or Support). From the image, you can tell Kro has 5 Attack Power and is a Melee card (sword icon), Lushen has 8 Attack Power and is a Ranged card (bow icon), and Mellia has 5 Attack Power and is a Support card (staff icon).
The highlighted area on the image shows the skill the Character card has, and the skill description can be found at the bottom of the card. Cards without a skill only have a basic description. [Special Effect Card] Special Effect Cards don't have Attack Power, but they come with a unique skill effect. The two cards below are the examples of the Special Effect Cards.
① Ancient Guardian of Ellunia card increases the Attack Power of the battlefield by 2 times and ② Ancient Guardian of Lumel card decreases the Attack Power of all Melee battlefields. As Special Effect Cards affect all battlefields including yours, it is important to use them wisely. [Gameplay Screen] ▶ Your battle will take place on the battlefield. : There are two sides, and the types of the battlefield are as follows: Special Effect / Buff / Character Battlefield (Melee, Ranged, and Support).

▶ Each Leader has their own Leader Skill that can be used only once in the game. : Upon your first entry, you can use Durand's [Master of Summoning]. You will be able to unlock the skills of all Leaders as you progress in Gwent. Each Leader has a Leader Skill specialized in each type of battlefield (Melee, Ranged, and Support). By using Leader Skills at the right time, you can affect the state of the game significantly. : These are the skills of each leader!
▶ When the round ends, the total Attack Power of the cards placed on each battlefield will determine the winner.
The first player to win 2 out of 3 rounds becomes the final winner. Try to win two rounds with a limited number of cards available! [Game Procedures] 1. The first and second turns are determined randomly in the first round. 2. You begin with 9 cards on your hand when the first round begins. : You can switch up to 2 cards.
3. You can place only 1 card per turn. You and your opponent will take turns. : Once you place the card on the battlefield, the opponent gets a turn. 4. You can declare PASS to end the round and your turn. : Gwent is played up to 3 rounds with 9 cards. If you think that you won't be able to win the round or you don't want to place cards anymore, you can PASS to end your turn. In this case, you can no longer place cards on the battlefield.
Here, you can see that the opponent declared PASS first since you're ahead. It'll be wise to declare PASS on your turn and proceed to the next round. Or, if the opponent placed a powerful card or you're in a disadvantageous situation, you can use PASS to prepare for the next round. 5. Each round ends when both players declare PASS. The round ends when both players tap PASS, and the player with a higher Attack Power of the cards placed on the battlefield takes the round. [Gwent Rewards] By clearing each stage, you will get 1 random card you don't have. You can clear the stages you already cleared repeatedly, but the reward is only given once upon first clear. If you clear all 5 stages provided each week, you get a clear reward which gives you 7 new cards every week.
You can upgrade your deck with new cards acquired via clearing stages. New cards count toward your card collection progress; various rewards are obtainable according to your collection progress.
That's about it for Gwent! Even if you're new to Gwent, you'll find it fun! We hope you enjoy the content. Our art team worked very hard to design the Gwent cards. Check out how Summoners War Monsters have been re-designed into cards!
Next, your favorite collab dungeon content is back with The Witcher theme. Let's take a look at how the collab dungeon looks like! [Collab Exclusive Content: Event Dungeon]
You can enter the dungeon by tapping the event icon on the World Map.
The event dungeon consists of multiple stages. By clearing each stage that is in tiles, you can clear the adjacent stages. Three loots with random effects appear whenever you clear a stage. You can select 1 of them to enhance your Monsters or gain a special ability. These effects will help you clear stages and bosses easier. ▶ The collab characters can be used in the collab dungeon. When you enter the event dungeon, you can select one of the four collab characters to use in the event dungeon battles. ▶ The event dungeon consists of Normal, Hard, and Hell difficulties. You can proceed to the next difficulty upon clearing the boss stage in the order of Normal > Hard > Hell. You can obtain a clear reward for the difficulty you're on upon clearing each difficulty. A special reward will be provided per week if you clear the boss of the Hell difficulty. ▶ There are Normal, Elite, Support, Upgrade, and Boss stages.
▶ Monsters defeated during the battle cannot be used again. The Monster that was defeated in battle cannot be used anymore in the corresponding week. [Event Dungeon Boss] The boss will vary by each difficulty (Normal, Hard, and Hell). Griffin, Leshen, and Fiend are your collab dungeon bosses. Let's take a look!
In this note, we'll talk about Fiend that appears in the Hard difficulty.

Fiend uses a passive skill that removes beneficial effects and inflicts Continuous Damage each turn. It's crucial to bring a Support Monster that can remove harmful effects. Since Veromos can remove harmful effects granted on allies continuously, we expect that he'll be viable in this content. [Event Dungeon Reward] A boss appears in the last stage of each difficulty. Upon clearing the boss, you can obtain rewards according to the difficulty.
The event dungeon resets every week. If you clear the boss of Hell difficulty, you can obtain a special reward for that week. The weekly rewards are as follows.
Along with special rewards, you can obtain Witcher Tokens, which can be exchanged for various items. Make sure to enter the event dungeon to collect a variety of rewards! [Event Dungeon Period] The event dungeon resets every week and is available for 9 weeks. The dungeon will reset every Sunday at 11:59pm (server time). Please note the event dungeon will begin on Mondays and end on Sundays from Week 2, except for Jan. 31st which is the update application date. Now, let's talk about other content that will be available with the collab. [Other Collab Exclusive Content] ▶ The Witcher collab characters will appear in Trial of Ascension that refreshes on Feb. 14th PST. The collab characters will appear as enemies on every 10th floor of Trial of Ascension that begins on Feb. 14th 9pm PST. You can acquire a Witcher Scroll that summons a collab character in 50F (Normal)! * The collab-related content will be applied to the Trial of Ascension from Feb. 14th 9pm PST - Mar. 14th 10pm PDT. ▶ Master X will appear as Arena Rival.
