[Info] Tartarus' Labyrinth Improvement Notice 2018.09.12

Greetings from the Summoners War Team!

We've been preparing to improve the Tartarus' Labyrinth content and running numbers of balancing tests based on the gameplay data and feedbacks shared from all of you.

After reviewing thoughtful feedbacks from Summoners and discussing ways to improve this content to add more fun and excitement, we created a list of points that we would like to implement to improve the Tartarus' Labyrinth.

In the upcoming Tartarus’ Labyrinth improvement and modification, we'd like to focus on:

1. Proceed with a balancing modification in order to make the content to be more accessible by users of all levels and conditions.

2. Improve the content to allow more Guilds to clear the labyrinth.

3. Reduce the stress of repetitive labyrinth gameplays and provide a clearer goal so that the users are motivated to clear the labyrinth within a short period of time.

4. Upgrade rewards so the users have something to look forward to when opening their rewards and to make them want to clear more labyrinths.

Now, many of you are probably wondering how these points will be implemented to the game.

First, we'll be improving the labyrinth via two updates.

The balancing modification will be carried out via v4.0.8 update, and the overall flow of labyrinth will be improved via v4.0.9 update (planned to be released on late September).

Please allow us to walk you through the improvement details.

▶ Tartarus' Labyrinth Balancing Modification (Planned to be updated via v4.0.8)

- New [Easy] difficulty level will be added.

The [Normal] difficulty level was balanced in previous update, but we acknowledge that the labyrinth content feels somewhat difficult to the beginners.

To make sure many Summoners can enjoy playing the Tartarus' Labyrinth and defeating Tartarus, we'll be adding a new [Easy] difficulty level, a level that's easier than [Normal].

If you are one of Summoners who were having a tough time clearing stages in [Normal] level, we strongly recommend you to try out the [Easy] level!

- Battles against the Guardians of Labyrinth and the Ruler of Labyrinth in [Normal/Hard] difficulty levels will be balanced overall.

We’re currently in the process of finalizing the balancing modification, so we can't go more in depth about this. However, we plan to ease the passive effect activation conditions of Guardians of Labyrinth and adjust the amount of Attack Bar that the boss gains whenever Monsters finish their turn so that the ally Monsters can survive longer. Also, only the battles of Normal and Hard difficulty levels will be balanced.

With the introduction of new difficulty level (Easy) and the battle balance modification, we hope to see more Summoners enjoy the Labyrinth content and contribute to their Guild to clear the labyrinth.

As mentioned earlier, the v4.0.9 update scheduled for the end of this month is going to be a more complete improvement of the labyrinth. Please continue to read below for more details.

▶ Labyrinth exploration schedule will be modified.

- All servers will share the same labyrinth exploration schedule.

All active Guilds will start their exploration on the same day, and the labyrinth will be closed on the same day. With this, exploration reservation feature will be removed. Following schedule is what we have in our mind at the moment.

The exploration will begin at 6am on Saturday and end at midnight (12am) on Friday, two weeks after (based on server time). After 6 hours of tallying, a new labyrinth will open. Due to this schedule adjustment, all the ongoing labyrinth explorations will have to end. Right now, we are considering to make all ongoing labyrinths to be completed as clear by the time of the v4.0.9 update. We will notify you with the detailed schedule and further information in the near future.

The Tartarus’ Labyrinth does not have fixed schedule like the Guild Battle or Siege Battle, which makes it difficult for Summoners to enter the labyrinth regularly. As the guild content requires cooperation between guild members, we would like to put less pressure and take off some burden that the Summoners might have experienced via the introduction of the new labyrinth exploration schedule.

Also, due to this schedule adjustment, the current Guild rankings and the exploration records will be reset. We would like to ask for your understanding on this matter.

Let's continue to talk about other improvements.

▶ Exploration gameplay rules will be modified.

- The no. of attempts per day will be increased from 3 times to 5 times.

With this modification, Summoners will be able to explore the labyrinth more frequently on a daily basis. Having 2 weeks of exploration time and 5 attempts a day, more Guilds will be able to clear the labyrinth faster. Also, the pressure of guild members entering the labyrinth every day might decrease to some degree.

- When your Guild defeats the final boss (Tartarus), all other stages in the labyrinth will open. Guild members will be able to enter the stages without consuming Energy. The faster your Guild clears the labyrinth, the more stages your guild members can enter without consuming Energy. We hope that this will be another motivation for you to clear the labyrinth faster. We suggest you to clear the labyrinth and try out various stages in different difficulty levels without worrying about Energy being consumed. Of course, the no. of attempts will be deducted when you successfully attack the stage and rewards will follow.

▶ Exploration rewards given according to clear time (divided by ranks) will be improved.

- New ranks (SSS and SS) will be added, and Guilds that failed to clear the labyrinth will earn Rank C reward.

Rewards of each rank are as follows.

Previously, you will get the box of the rank your guild acquired (Ex. When your Guild cleared the labyrinth with Rank S, you receive Rank S boxes). After the improvement, everyone will receive the same clear reward boxes. However, the no. of reward boxes will be different based on the Guild’s clear rank. If your Guild worked hard to enter the labyrinth, you will be able to acquire 1 to 7 reward boxes. The clear rank is determined based on the time spent to defeat the Tartarus. In addition, the drop rate of items available from the reward boxes will also be modified. We hope these improvements and modifications will reward the effort that you put in to clear the labyrinth.

▶Immemorial Grindstone and Immemorial Gem will be given as a reward when you successfully attack the Tartarus for the first time in every labyrinth.

Many of you have mentioned that the rewards you receive from the labyrinth are not compensating enough compared to the time and effort spent.

We also thought that there was a very little chance for the users to try out the new items (Immemorial Grindstones and Gems) as they're available from the final reward box with a fixed chance. We discussed how to make these items available to the users, and decided to give the Immemorial Grindstone and Immemorial Gem as a guaranteed reward on your first victory against Tartarus battle in every labyrinth.

Please be aware that the developer's note has been written during the development stage and some content might change. We ask for your kind understanding in advance.

We hope the Tartarus' Labyrinth will become a place where all Summoners can challenge themselves to achieve a higher goal and try out more variety of battles with satisfactory rewards.

Thank you always for playing Summoners War and sharing your feedbacks and ideas.

We'll be back with another developer's note soon, so please stay tuned!

Thank you.
