[Info] New Content (Siege Battle) Update 2017.11.14

Greetings from the Summoners War team!

We're back with a new developer's note to inform you about the new Siege Battle content that will be added in the game soon.

Please read below for details.

> Siege Battle Details

- Siege Battle is a new "Free for All" Guild content where users from 3 Guilds enter to acquire higher Siege Points by occupying the opponent's base while protecting their own.

- Guilds with at least 15 and up to 25 Guild members can participate in the Siege Battle and you must select the Guild members that will be participating in the battle when you register for the Siege Battle.

- You can enter the Guild Siege Battle at the Isle of Conquest and the Isle of Conquest UI will be modified so that you can easily distinguish the Guild Battle from the Siege Battle.

▶ Siege Battle Glossary

Since there are some words that you might not be familiar with in the Siege Battle, we thought that it'd be better to introduce them beforehand.

Please see below for more info.

Each will be called as [1] Headquarters (HQ) [2] Base [3] Siege Point [4] Isolated Base and the following is a detailed explanation of each content.

[1] Headquarters (HQ)

- HQ is the center of the Siege Battle defense where you can save all of the preset defense decks. You can add and modify defense decks to the HQ at any time during the Siege Battle and use saved decks to build defense at each base. Details will be explained below and the HQ has the following characteristics.

- You can't attack or occupy the HQ.

- You can't acquire any Siege Points from the HQ.

- The MAX no. of defense decks a player can create is 10, including both HQ and bases.

[2] Base

- Bases are where you can acquire Siege Points proportionate to the number of bases you're occupying and the occupancy time. Each Guild will have 12 bases at the start of the Siege Battle and you'll have to fight against other Guilds to occupy as many bases for as long as possible.

- You can place up to 5 defense decks on each base and the base will be occupied by others if all defense decks are destroyed.

- You can only use default 4★ or below Monsters to attack/defense the bases that are smaller in size than others.

[3] Siege Point

- As mentioned briefly above, you can acquire Siege Points proportionate to the occupancy time and the number of bases you're occupying. The first Guild to reach 20,000 Siege Points will win the Siege Battle. Rank No. 2 & 3 Guilds will be determined according to the amount of Siege Points acquired once the No. 1 Guild is determined.

- If none of the Guilds reach 20,000pts until the Siege Battle ends, the ranking will be decided based on the amount of Siege Points accumulated after the battle is over.

- Siege Points can also be acquired whenever you destroy the opponent's base or successfully defend your base from others' attack.

- If the number of occupied bases exceeds 13, the amount of Siege Points you acquire will greatly increase.

[4] Isolated Base

- As the battle proceeds, there will be bases that are isolated and disconnected from the HQ. These bases are called as [Isolated Bases]. (You'll see a sign at the bottom-right for Isolated Bases.)

As you can see from the image, bases below the Blue Guild are all connected to the HQ and you can acquire Siege Points from these bases. However, Blue Base No. 10 at the top-right is an isolated base and you won't be able to acquire Siege Points from this base.

In this case, you should quickly occupy one of the bases in the front (Red Base No. 5/6/9/11) so that you can acquire Siege Points by connecting the base to the HQ.

In contrast, you can also prevent the opponents from collecting Siege Points by isolating their base. If Blue Base No. 1/2/3 are all occupied by the opponent Guild, Blue Guild will no longer be able to acquire Siege Points.

Next, let's talk about the Siege Battle schedule.

▶ Siege Battle Registration/Schedule

- The Siege Battle will proceed twice a week. Please refer to the chart below for more info.

- Guild Master/Vice Guild Masters can register for the Siege Battle during the registration period. You can also keep the auto registration feature activated so that your Guild will be automatically registered to participate in the Siege Battle.

- Among the Guilds that registered for the Siege Battle, 3 Guilds will be matched according to Victory Points. However, the first matching after the Siege Battle Update will proceed based on the Guild Battle Victory Point. That is, the first Siege Battle Victory Points will be based on the Guild Battle Victory Points.

- The Siege Battle will proceed in the order of [1st half --> Armistice --> 2nd half].

- During the 1st/2nd half of the battle, Guilds will fight against each other to attack/defend/occupy bases.

- During Armistice, the battle will be stopped completely so you won't be able to attack others. (Siege Points won't be acquired either) You can check your current Guild status and come up with a strategy for the 2nd half of the battle during this time.

- During the registration period, all participants must remember to place defense decks at each base since you won't be able to add/modify the defense deck once the Siege Battle starts. If you forget to place defense decks at the base, your Guild will enter the battle in a very disadvantageous position compared to others. (You'll be able to add/modify defense decks only on newly occupied bases for 1 hour after the battle starts.)

▶ Siege Battle: Defense Formation Placement

First, let me explain to you about how to save preset defense decks at the HQ.

- Any Guild member entering the Siege Battle can save preset defense decks. As mentioned earlier, you can always add/modify defense decks at the HQ regardless of the Siege Battle progress. Preset defense decks can be used to defend your base when you move to each base.

Let's find out more about how you can place defense decks on each base.

First of all, you can only add/modify defense decks [during the registration period] or [on newly occupied bases]. There are 2 ways to place defense decks on bases.

Below is a screen where you can place defense formations on the base.

As you can see there are two menus: [Add Formation]/[HQ Support]. You can use your own Monsters and place them in the defense deck with the [Add Formation] Menu, whereas, [HQ Support] Menu enables you to use defense decks already set up at the HQ.

Tap the Add Formation to place Monster of your own in the defense deck.

You can move preset defense decks at the HQ to set up defense formation via HQ Support Menu.

- If a base gets occupied, the defense decks used at the base will be returned to the HQ and added as preset defense decks. You'll be able to reuse these decks when you occupy a new base. To sum up, defense decks will be added back to the HQ once a base is occupied and you can use them again as many times as you want on other bases.

▶ Siege Battle: Battle and Base Occupation

Once the defense formation is complete and the battle starts, an intense battle amongst Guilds will begin.

[1] First, select an opponent Guild's base to attack.

: However, you can only attack bases nearby the ally base. You can't attack bases that are far away.

[2] The above UI will appear when you select a base to attack. You'll be able to see defense decks placed by other Guilds and select an attack target among these defense decks.

[3] The battle will proceed in the form of 3 vs. 3 in 1 Round.

[4] When you successfully attack, you'll be able to destroy the defense deck as you can see from the image. If there's a Guild that already succeeded in attacking the defense deck, the Guild's flag will appear. From the above image, you can tell that the ally Guild [Blue Guild] successfully attacked deck no. 1/3/4 and Yellow Guild successfully attacked deck no. 1/2/3. Blue Guild should quickly attack the rest of the defense decks to occupy the base before the Yellow Guild does!

: The above base is being attacked by Blue and Yellow Guild at the same time. In this case, the first Guild to destroy all 5 defense decks will occupy the base.

[5] You can occupy a base by destroying all defense decks placed on that base.

: You'll have an hour to rebuild and set up defense decks on the base you occupied. You should use this rebuilding period wisely so the base won't be occupied by the opponent again! Also, you don't have to worry about being attacked by others during this 1 hour of rebuilding period so take your time to think through. (Please note that Siege Points will be acquired from bases that are being rebuilt, which means that you'll have a full hour to acquire Siege Points safely during the rebuilding period.)

- Lastly, each Guild member can use 30 Monsters to attack during the Siege Battle. You can use all 30 Monsters in the 1st half of the battle or use only half of them in the 1st half and the rest in the 2nd half. Keep in mind that Monsters that have been used to attack once will no longer be available regardless of the attack result so you should carefully choose which Monster to use.

: You can also use Monsters placed in the defense deck whether the Monster is placed in the defense deck of HQ/base.

That's all for the battle and now let's move on to talk more about rewards.

▶ Siege Battle: Grade System and Rewards

- You can collect rewards based on the current grade and rank of your Guild whenever the Siege Battle ends. Please read below for more info on the reward.

- Crystals and Guild Points are available as a default reward. However, the amount of Crystals/Guild Points available will vary by Siege Points and contribution.

For instance, if your Guild is a Guardian Grade and has accumulated 15,000pts from the Siege Battle, the amount of Crystals you acquire will be:

[15,000 Siege Points] * [15% (based on the amount of Crystals given to the Guardian Grade)] * [Contribution to the Siege Battle].

The same calculation applies for the Guild Points so it's best to acquire as much Siege Points possible until the end. (Of course, the best strategy to acquire MAX reward is to reach 20,000 Siege Points.)

- [1 Trophy Box] will be given to all Guild members according to the Siege Battle Grade and Rank. (Your chances of getting more and better items will increase as the grade of the Trophy Box increases.)

- What's special about the Trophy Box?

According to the rank, 1 - 4 [Shiny Trophy Boxes] will be included. 1 Premium Item and 5~6★ Rune x1 will be guaranteed from the Shiny Trophy Box and at least 1 Guild member will have an opportunity to get these awesome rewards.

- Furthermore, all Guild members can open up Trophy Boxes together and share the special moment. Please refer to the image below.

As mentioned earlier, each Guild member (among those that participated in the Siege Battle) will open up a Trophy Box once after the battle ends. Could you imagine how other Guild members would be jealous of the one who gets the Shiny Trophy Box?

- Now, what kinds of items will be available from the Trophy Box?

* Up to 1~3 Mystical/Attribute Scrolls and 5~15 Legendary/Light & Darkness Summoning Pieces can be acquired.

- A 5~6★ Legend Grade Rune will be guaranteed from the Shiny Trophy Box with Grade S or above.

- We've talked about rewards available from the Siege Battle. As new content is being added, new items will be available from the Guild Shop! We can't give you details on the new items to be added but please stay tuned!

That's all we've prepared for the developer's note today and I hope the information provided was helpful.

(Please note that the content discussed in this developer's note is currently being developed and may be different from the actual update.)
