[Info] Rune UI/UX Improvement Update 2022.01.12

Greetings from the Summoners War Dev Team!

We hope you had a good start to the new year! May you all have a joyful and prosperous year ahead.

As you may have noticed from our 8th anniversary d-day event that is live in the game, Summoners War will be celebrating its 8th anniversary this year. We are excited to present many great updates to our Summoners throughout this year.

The first dev note of the year is about the Rune QoL Improvement Update.

Before we discuss in more detail, here are some of the main points that we will be discussing:

- [Rune Engraving Statistics] menu: You can check the Rune engraving status of 6★ Monsters (MAX LV) of your server.

- [Rune Auto Engrave] function: You can engrave Runes to Monsters with more ease, which will be especially useful for new Summoners.

- [All Monster Rune Save] and [All Monster Rune Load] functions: You can save and load the information of Runes engraved on all Monsters.

- The menu UI of the Rune tab in Monster Info is improved.

A handful of updates and improvements related to Runes are prepared, so please continue to read the note for more details.

▶ Rune Statistics Menu

This new menu will show the statistical information about the Rune sets and main properties used for the 6★ Monster (MAX LV) of your server.

Rune statistics can be checked via Monster info screen and Rune management menu. We will explain further with the image below.

[Tap the Monster Info menu to access the Rune Statistics tab.]

[In Rune Statistics, the top 6 Rune sets used for the Monster are displayed.]

[You can also check the rates of main properties that are used for Rune No. 2/4/6.]

Many Summoners check the Runes of their friends or guild members to see and compare which Rune sets they use for each Monster. Rune Statistics will allow you to check the Rune information that is used by the Summoners of the entire server at a glance.

Please note that statistics may not be provided if there is no data or insufficient data on Rune engraving for the Monster within the server.

As statistical data reflects the data collected for each server, statistics may differ depending on the server you play in.

In addition, statistics are not reflected in real time but will be updated at regular intervals (about once a month).

Now, we will introduce you to the [Rune Auto Engrave] function.

▶ Rune Auto Engraving

Summoners War is full of various and unique Rune combinations created by combining Rune set effects and main property/sub properties.

Designing and engraving your own Rune combination to over a thousand of Monsters and winning battles are always exciting.

However, these diverse Rune combinations could be challenging for new Summoners.

You may remember having a hard time understanding the concept of Runes and searching to see which ones are best for each Monster.

To ease this burden, we are introducing the new function, [Rune Auto Engraving].

Based on the Rune engraving statistics, we will be providing Rune recommendations for your Monsters.

This may be less useful for Summoners who need strategic and in-depth Rune settings, but as we mentioned above, this will come in handy for new Summoners and those in the early stages.

- What's Rune Auto Engraving?

: Rune Auto Engraving recommends the most suitable Runes among the Runes you own, considering the Rune set effects, main property/ sub properties, Rune star grade, etc. The recommended Runes can be engraved to your Monster with this function.

As you can see from the image above, the Rune menu has been upgraded.

Rune and Artifact menus are added to make the relevant categories more visible, and the frequently used Rune Management Menu has been added separately to improve accessibility.

Along with these menus, the Rune Auto Engraving menu has been added.

When you tap the [Auto Engrave] Button, the most appropriate Runes are recommended based on the current Rune statistics.

You can check how the Monster stats will change if you engrave the Runes automatically and decide if you want to proceed with the auto engrave or not.

Auto engraving is also available via the Rune management menu.

Some functions have been added to the existing [World Arena Rune Loading] menu, and the UI is changed to the [Rune Settings] menu.

You will be able to use the [Rune auto engraving] function in the Rune management menu by using this menu.

Here are some basic rules of Rune auto engraving.

- If you proceed the auto engraving on the Monster who already has Runes engraved, the Rune removal cost will be consumed.

- Rune auto engravings are made based on the Runes remaining in the inventory.

: Please note that the Runes already engraved on other Monsters are not included in the [Rune auto engraving] combination.

This [Rune auto engraving] function was developed to provide a slightly easier and straightforward function than in-depth Rune settings.

We hope this function will help out our new Summoners to learn more about the Runes and various combinations.

Next, we will talk more about the functions that will be added to the Rune QoL improvements.

▶ Monster Rune Set Save and Load Functions

Different strategic plays are happening in Summoners War - deck composition where you have to select Monsters to form a team that will fight against different bosses in PvE content, active discussion with guild members and team members to share and discuss defense decks and attack orders to ban & pick system in the World Arena and the list goes on.

Deciding on which Rune settings you want to grant on each Monster is one of the important strategic elements.

In the past, we introduced the Rune management menu and World Arena exclusive Rune slot update so that Summoners can be more strategic with their Runes and Monsters.

Many of you will agree that sometimes you are discouraged from trying out new Rune settings by the uncertainty of whether it will be better than the existing settings or not.

We want to relieve this burden of trying out various Rune strategies by adding the [All Monster Rune Saving] and [All Monster Rune Loading] functions.

With these functions, you will be able to save the Rune engraving info of all Monsters, try out new Rune settings, and go back to the existing settings if you are not satisfied with the new Rune settings.

We will explain more about these functions below. (Hereinafter, these functions will be referred to as Rune Saving and Rune Loading.)

- What's Rune Saving?

: It's a function to save Rune engraving info of all Monsters that have Runes engraved (including Monsters in the slot and storage) based on the time you tap the save button. The saved info can be loaded at any time. 200,000 Mana Stones will be consumed to save the Rune settings and there will be a cooldown of 10 minutes after saving.

- What's Rune Loading?

: It's a function that loads the saved Rune engraving info of all Monsters. 200,000 Mana Stones and Rune removal cost will be consumed when loading the Rune sets. There will be a cooldown of 10 minutes after loading.

* [Rune Saving/ Rune Loading] is a function that saves the information of all the Runes that you own on the server. A certain amount of Mana Stones and a cooldown of 10 minutes are required to minimize any server instability issues that may occur due to server load.

[Rune Saving] menu will be added to the Rune management menu.

Tap [Save Runes of All Monsters] and you will see the following confirmation pop-up.

Tap [Load Runes of All Monsters] and you will see information such as saved date and loading cost.

While preparing the [Rune Saving/Loading] functions, Free Rune Removal Event came to mind.

It would be good to use the [Rune Saving/Loading] functions during the Free Rune Removal Event to save Mana Stones and to test various Rune settings.

Therefore, we will be holding a surprise Free Rune Removal Event!

▶Update Special Free Rune & Artifact Removal Event

- Jan. 19th 11am - Jan. 22nd 11:59pm

- No Mana Stones will be consumed when you remove Runes and Artifacts during the event period.

: When using the [Rune Auto Engrave] function, the Rune removal cost will not be consumed.

: When using the [Save/Load Runes of All Monsters] functions, the removal cost of the changed Runes will not be consumed, but the standard cost of [Save/Load Runes of All Monsters], 200,000 Mana Stones, will be consumed for each.

The dev team is a little concerned about the server load regarding the [Rune Saving/Loading] functions.

This is why we decided to monitor the game and check the server stabilization after the update first and then hold the Free Rune Removal Event on Jan. 19th.

Lastly, we have put together answers to some of the questions you might have about saving and loading Rune info of all Monsters.

Q. Until when can I load saved Rune sets?

A. The saved Rune info can be loaded without a time limit once saved.

However, if you are loading data that was saved too long ago, all Runes engraved on Monsters you summoned in between will be removed from the Monsters. We advise you to check the saved date before loading the info.

Q. Can I save the Rune settings multiple times?

A. The previously saved information will be overwritten every time you save the Rune settings. The most recent Rune information that you saved will be loaded when you attempt to load Rune information.

Q. Is the Rune removal cost free when I use the functions during the Free Rune Removal Event?

A. Rune removal costs will not be charged, but 200,000 Mana Stones for Rune info saving and loading will be used each if you use the functions.

Q. Will the information of engraved artifacts be saved as well?

A. Only Rune information will be saved.

Q. What happens if I save Rune information and then load the saved information after enchanting the Runes?

A. The Rune power-up and enchanted states remain, meaning the changed power-up levels and enhancement (amplification/conversion) conditions you have right now will remain. In other words, only information of Runes engraved on Monsters is saved and loaded.

Q. What happens if I don’t have the Monsters with saved Rune engraving info by the time I load the Rune info?

A. If you had a Monster A at the time you saved the Rune info but used it as a power-up material or unsummoned the Monster, the Runes engraved on them will then return to the Inventory.

Q. What happens if I load the Rune info after I sell Runes?

A. The sold Runes remain in the sold state even if you load the Runes after selling them.

Q. Can I use these functions while the repeat battle is on?

A. Due to changes to the entire saved Rune information, these functions cannot be used during battle.
