[Info] New Content: Arena Interserver Battle 2021.11.23

Greetings from the Summoners War Dev team!

Before we dive into our exciting news, we would like to thank everyone who has shown a great interest in the SWC2021 World Finals and the world finalists who fought hard in the matches.

Also, we would like to congratulate the world champion [DILIGENT]! We hope to see more amazing plays from him!

We will be back with SWC2022 next year with more fun elements that everyone can enjoy.

Now, we are ready to talk about the new Arena content, which is targeted to be introduced via the next version update (v6.4.6).

As you all know, the World Arena, known as the real-time Arena, is a content where Summoners analyze each other’s deck within a short period of time and use precise strategies for different situations to play in an intense battle at every moment.

The [Arena Interserver Battle] is an asynchronous PvP content that allows you to enjoy the fun of long-term strategy in a team unit which will provide a different type of fun that the World Arena provides.

For your better understanding, please continue to read below to learn more about the new Arena content.

▶ New Arena Interserver Battle

(This is the arena battlefield where the new Interserver Battle content will take place. Do you feel the atmosphere full of majesty and tension?)

- The new Arena Interserver Battle is a server-based asynchronous PVP content in which Summoners representing each of 6 servers (Korea, Japan, China, Global, Asia and Europe) form a team and compete to determine the best server.

In this [Arena Interserver Battle], 10,000 Summoners selected through the qualifier form a total of 200 teams of 50 players and battle with other servers' teams, and the server ranking is determined according to the results of each round for 5 weeks.

While the existing Arena is focused on competing with individual rankings, the Interserver Battle, although individual victory is also important, focuses more on how you can contribute to the victory of your team and server and enjoy a different kind of fun from the existing one.

▶ Representative Selection Process

First, we will explain the process of selecting representative Summoners for each server.

- 10,000 server representatives will be selected based on the final arena ranks of the week just before the Interserver Battle starts.

: Interserver Battle Season 1 is scheduled to start on Nov. 14th 12am PST. Thus, the server representatives will be selected based on the final rank of the arena held from Dec. 6th to Dec. 12th.

: We named the period for selecting representatives as the [selection period]. During the [selection period], information will be provided in the arena lobby so that Summoners can see that the selection is in progress.

: If there are Summoners with the same rank, the Summoner who reached the arena score first will have priority to qualify.

- The 10,000 Summoners selected will form a team of 50 players based on the final ranks, having 200 teams per server.

: Teams of 50 players are formed based on the final ranks, and a total of 200 teams are composed from Team 1 to Team 200. (Team 1 = Rank 1 to 50 Summoners, Team 2 = Rank 51 to 100 Summoners, etc.)

: Once the teams are formed, the Interserver Battle will be held between teams of the same number.

If you are assigned to Team 101, you will be playing against Team 101 of the opponent server.

Representing your server may not be an easy duty, but you will have other 9,999 players by your side to fight together!

Now we will explain the detailed schedule of how the Interserver Battle will take place.

▶ Schedule

One server is matched to another server every week, and the battle proceeds in the form of server vs server.

Please take a look at the tables of the Interserver Battle Season 1 schedule.

The matching order between servers will change slightly for each season. We will inform you in advance before the start of the new season.

Each week consists of 5 days of battle and 2 days of armistice.

As mentioned earlier, Season 1 starts on Dec. 14th 12am PST, and the Week 1 battle will be held during Dec. 14th 12am - Dec. 19th 12am PST.

Here’s a schedule of season 1 on a daily basis.

A season will end when a server plays against each server from R1 to R5.

After a two-week break, the selection starts again.

To summarize, each season will proceed as follows.

The Arena Interserver Battle is held for a total of 8 weeks.

We anticipate that it will be a new, exciting experience to fight against the unique arena defense decks of each server and devise attack strategies while competing against Summoners from other servers in each week.

Please note that the existing Arena will continue to be held while the Arena Interserver Battle is in progress.

In addition, due to the schedule of the Arena Interserver Battle as shown above, we would like to normalize the arena tallying schedule, which was slightly different for each server, starting Nov. 28th.

This means that the victory point compression and arena weekly reward refreshes will proceed during the arena tallying on Nov. 28th. We ask for your generous understanding.

- Arena tallying schedule changed

The arena tallying schedule will be changed as follow to prepare for the upcoming [Arena Interserver Battle] update.

: The arena tally and victory point compression will proceed during Nov. 28th 10pm - 11pm (server time) for all servers.

: The arena weekly reward change will be made on Nov. 28th as well, and the victory point compression and arena weekly reward change will proceed on a 2-week basis as before.

▶ Battle Details

The basic rules of server battle are as follows.

- The basic battle rules are the same as in the Arena.

: It is a 4 Monsters vs 4 Monsters battle, and the effects of Arcane Towers and Glory Buildings are all applied.

- You cannot place multiple identical Monsters in both the defense and offense deck.

: You cannot use multiple identical Monsters to compose a deck. Instead, it is possible to use the previously used Monsters again for battles with other users.

- A total of 50 battle chances are given, and you can attack each opponent only once.

: As mentioned above, teams of 50 people will be formed, and teams of the same number will fight against each other.

: Each of the 50 defense decks of the opposing server team can only be attacked once, and you cannot re-battle the opponent regardless of the battle result.

- The winning streak buff is not available.

Let us walk you through the details, starting with the screenshot below.

When the Interserver Battle starts, the following icon is added to the arena lobby.

Tap the icon to enter the Interserver Battle menu as shown below.

In this menu, all Summoners can check various information including the status of the Interserver Battle in progress.

We will explain more about the screen menus.

(1) This is the area that is exposed to the server representative Summoners. It shows their own information such as the number of their team, ID, rank and more.

(2) This is the area where you can check the information of the ongoing round. You can briefly check the matched server, the remaining period, and the current battle status.

(3) In the [Ranking] menu, you can check information about individual and server rankings. In the [Info] and [Record], you can check the detailed information and records of the current battle.

(4) This is a menu where the representative Summoners use to form their defense deck. At the start of the Interserver battle, the Arena defense deck is copied and placed automatically, which can be modified at any time afterwards.

(5) You can check the list of Summoners from the matched server when you tap the [Battle] button during the battle period. From the list, you can select the opponent you want to battle against.

As mentioned earlier, you can only battle once with each opponent. So a very careful strategy is required for a successful attack.

▶ Point Rules and Victory Conditions

At the start of the Interserver Battle, all server representatives will start with 1,000 [Individual Battle Points], and the victory points will change as follows depending on the battle result.

You will gain 30pts for a successful attack and lose 10pts for failed defense, and there is no point changes due to failed attacks and successful defenses. This means that it is important to proceed with all available battles to lead your server to victory as the points will not be affected by the failed attacks and successful defenses!

After the 5 days of battles, the team battle’s victory will be determined by the sum of the individual match points per team.

In the case of team battles, the team with the highest sum of their individual match points wins, and the server with more team victories based on the results of these team battles wins the Interserver Battle.

Let us give you a more specific example.

If Europe and Global servers are matched in Week 1, the victory or defeat of each team will be determined by the sum of the individual match points of the corresponding team members.

If the total points of Team 1’s individual match is 87,500 points for the Europe server and 72,500 points for the Global server, the Europe server’s Team 1 wins.

However, if the win/loss result of each of the 200 teams is [Europe] 90 vs 110 [Global], the first round of the server match will be won by the global server. (If the team match score is the same, it will be treated as a draw.)

After 5 rounds of server battles over 5 weeks, the results are summed to determine the final server ranking, and rewards are given according to their ranks.

As new content will be added, we know many of you are expecting new rewards as well. We will now talk about what kinds of rewards are available for Summoners.

▶ Rewards

- Rewards consist of [Weekly Rewards], which are given weekly, and [Final Rewards], which are given according to the ranking of each server at the end of each season.

For the weekly rewards and final rewards, there are rewards that are only given to the representatives who participated in the battle and rewards given to all Summoners with Lv. 30 or higher of the server.

The weekly rewards given according to the results for each week are as follows.

In the case of the final rewards, Reappraisal Stones are given to the representative Summoners, and a reward box according to the ranking is given to all Summoners with Lv. 30 or higher of the server.

The amount of Reappraisal Stones will be different depending on the final rank of servers, as follows.

Reward boxes given to all Summoners (with Lv.30 or higher) will contain the following items.

Lastly, there is a special reward system that is provided only to the representative Summoners who participated in the Interserver Battle.

We named this reward [Glory Reward], and more details are available below!

▶ Glory Rewards

The glory reward is a special benefit that allows you to collect EXP that can be obtained by participating in the Interserver Battle. You can get rewards whenever you collect a certain amount of EXP.

As glory rewards, various items such as Crystals, Legendary All-Attribute Scroll, Legendary Scroll, L&D Scroll, Runes and Grindstones are available.

You can receive rewards for reaching EXP checkpoints through the Interserver Battle. The rewards can be collected repeatedly, so once you gain MAX EXP, the EXP resets and you can start collecting more EXP again for another round of rewards!

To get glory rewards, you must play in the Interserver Battle. We hope this will motivate many users to be selected for the Interserver Battle.

[Glory EXP]

It consists of EXP that can be obtained from winning battles and according to the weekly and season rankings.

The following glory rewards can be obtained when you gain Glory EXP.

[Rewards]

Also, keep in mind that EXP does not reset at the end of the season, but are cumulatively accumulated until the subsequent seasons.

We are considering how to make it possible for Summoners who are not participating in the Interserver Battle to experience the battle and obtain Glory EXP. Please stay tuned as we think this will be introduced to the users in the second season of the [Arena Interserver Battle].

Lastly, we would like to finish off with one more news that will be updated together in the v6.4.6 update.

▶ [Glory Shop and Ancient Crystal Shop] New Items and Modifications

We have been expanding the chances of summoning Monsters through adding new contents, improving rewards of existing contents and holding various events - daily mission renewals, scenario clear reward improvements and attendance reward improvements are a few that come to mind.

We believe that by doing so, we can increase the accessibility of the early game and provide the fun of utilizing various monsters to play Summoners War.

We would like to develop this further via the v6.4.6 update by adjusting the price and purchase limit of some scrolls sold at the Glory Shop.

In addition, we would also like to add new items and adjust the price of some existing items at the Ancient Crystal Shop.

We will explain the details of the update below.

[Glory shop Item Modifications]

- [Shop > Glory] The prices of Mystical Scrolls and Attribute Scrolls will be changed as follows for the Arena/ World Arena/ Guild Shops.

[Ancient Crystal Shop New Items]

- The following items will be added to the Ancient Crystal Shop.

* Go to the [Shop > Normal > Ancient Crystal] to access the Ancient Crystal Shop.

[Ancient Crystal Shop Item Modifications]

The prices, purchase limit and refresh chances of some items will be changed as follows.

We hope you are as excited as we are about the new Interserver Battle.

We would like to point out once again that the Interserver Battle update will not start right after the update date, but will have the selection period from Dec. 6th to Dec. 12th and start on Dec. 14th.
