Rift of Worlds : Real-time Raid & Rune Enchantment 2015.11.25

Greetings from the Summoners War team!

For today's Developer's Note, we'd like to talk about the Rift of Worlds update!

More specifically, we will be talking about the real-time Raid and the Rune Enchantment.

Real-time Raid
- A party of 3 players will be facing a gigantic boss in the Raid.
- Each Summoner can bring up to 6 Monsters to the fight. The fight will be supported by Auto Battle only.
- Players will be able to see how the fight for each party member is going on a real-time basis, check the Monster information of party members, and chat along with the party while fighting the boss.
- Also, a damage meter that shows the rankings within the party about who dealt the most damage will also be supported on a real-time basis. You can use this as an indicator of who contributed the most to defeat the boss.
(Please note that the rankings will not affect the rewards that each player receives. The rewards will be given out equally if the raid has been cleared.)

Real-time Raid Details
- The Boss will have 3 heads to encounter. Each Summoner will have to face 1 head. Each head will have a separate Attack Bar, thus attacking the Player in front of them independantly. However, the 3 heads of the Boss will not have separate HP. The Boss's HP will be shared, and all of the damage that each head receives will affect the Boss's HP.
- Party members will be sharing Leader Skills and will also be benefiting from the weakening effect that other party members cast on the Boss. This has been designed to reward parties with good Monster combinations.
(Please note that the beneficial effects cast on ally Monsters will not be shared with the party.)
- Unlike any other battle in the game, the Raid battle is fought in a special formation which can be divided into two lines: front line(tankers) and the back line(damage dealers/supporters).
: The front line(tankers) will share the damage dealt to the Monsters in the front line. The Boss will prioritize attacks to the front line. Also, the back line will benefit from the first line, as the front line will be mitigating area-of-effect damages.
- To help you better understand the formation concept, we've prepared an image.

Rune Enchantment
- Finally, we would like to talk about the Rune Enchantment. You will be able to acquire the special ingredients needed for the Rune Enchantment at the Raid.
- Rune Enchantment will allow you to Amplify or Convert a sub-property of your Rune. You will not be able to change your primary properties or the prefix property.
- For Rune Enchantments, you will be needing special gems or Grindstones. You can acquire them from the Raid.
- Gems and Grindstones each have 5 different grades(from Normal to Legend). Each will be designated with a specific Rune set and option at the moment of drop. Gems can only be used Runes that are at least +12.
- Grindstones can be used to boost one of the 4 sub-properties that the Rune has. Please refer to the following image of the UI which is still under development, for better understanding.

* You can only boost the primary stats (HP, Attack Power, Defense, Attack Speed) with the Grindstones.

- Gems are used to change one of the 4 sub-properties into a different sub-property. Please refer to the following image for better understanding.

* If what you are trying to Convert is a sub-property with additional value added via Power-up, the additionally added value will not be transferred to the Converted sub-property.

* Only one sub-property for each Rune can be Converted.

- As you can see in the image above, if the HP sub-property has been changed to Attack Power sub-property, other original sub-properties of the Runes are no longer subject for Conversion. However, the Converted sub-property may be Converted into another sub-property using other gems.

* Also, you will be able to see some unforeseen sub-properties to appear when Converting sub-properties using gems.

- Finally, the relationship between primary properties and sub-property will be applied to Conversion. For instance, if the Rune you are trying to Convert has a HP% primary property, you will not be able to us a Conversion gem with HP% on that Rune.

We're working hard to create great content! Please note that all of the details shared today are still under development and are subject to change.

More are being added to the update, and the World Boss and Transmogrify content is under development as well. In the next Developer's Note, we'll be covering the details of the World Boss and Transmogrification.
