In today's developer's note, we would like to talk about the Siege Battle improvement which will be implemented to the game via the next v5.3.4 update.

 

Please read below for the details.

 

▶ [Siege Battle] Season System Improvement

 

- The season system will be introduced to the siege battle soon.

Each season will last for 3 months, and season tally rewards will be provided based on the grade your guild reaches at the end of the season.

 

- At the end of each season, Summoners War Siege Battle Tournament will be held to determine the Legend Guild.

Please think of this as the guild version of the World Arena Legend Tournament. Based on the three-month season results, top 20 guilds will fight in the 1 vs. 1 siege battle tournament to determine the strongest guild of all.

Summoners War Siege Battle Tournament will have a few different characteristics from the regular season rules. We will explain these below.​

 

▶ What's the Summoners War Siege Battle Tournament?

 

- The siege battle tournament will be held as one-on-one battle. 

Since one guild will fight against only one opponent guild, each guild can focus on the opponent guild and fight.

 

- Each siege battle will be held on a daily schedule, and the entire Summoners War Siege Battle Tournament will be held for one week.

The siege battle will be for 5 days (Mon/ Tue/ Thu/ Fri/ Sat), and Wednesday will be remained as a day off.

[Siege Battle Tournament Bracket]

Based on the season closing rankings, the top 20 guilds will compete in the 1 vs 1 battle. The winning guild will advance to the next round.

 

 

A total of 5 rounds will be played, and the ranking will be decided as a guild gets defeated (single elimination method).

Also, as you can see in the chart, the seed is given according to the season ranking. This is why it will be important for your guild to finish the season in high rank!

 

- The siege battle tournament will be held for 12 hours regardless of the first half/ second half.

The siege battle will start at noon and proceed until midnight (based on server time).

The following siege battle tournament exclusive rules will be applied as the siege battle time is shortened by 12 hours.

 

1. For siege points, your guild will earn 2 points per minute for one base.

2. The additional points earned when occupying 13+ bases will be changed to 20 points.

3. The rebuilding period will be shortened to 30 minutes.

 

In addition, a menu that provides information of the siege battle tournament including tournament bracket and round results will be available.

And an event tournament where you can experience the 1 vs. 1 siege battle will also be available.

 

We are excited to see the thrilling battles that will take place in the siege battle tournament.

▶ Siege Battle Season 1 Schedule

 

[Ongoing siege battle season closing and victory point compression] 

May 15th 11pm - 12am

 

[Siege Battle Season 1 Regular League]

May 18th - Aug. 21st (Scheduled)

 

[Siege Battle Season 1 - Siege Battle Tournament]

Aug. 24th - Aug. 29th

 

The first season will not start immediately after the v5.3.4 update, but will begin from the siege battle on May 18th.

The first season will continue through August, and the siege battle tournament will be held for one week afterwards.

 

One season will be over when the tournament is played. After that, the season will be tallied for siege battle season rewards and victory point compression and the new season will start.

 

Now, let's talk about the special rewards that will be added along with this improvement!

 

▶ Season Rewards

- Season rewards include rare items that can be obtained only from each season, and will be given according to the season closing grade.

Entrance effect? Siege battle background? You may wonder what these new items are. Please continue to read for the brief introduction.

 

[Entrance Effect] 

 

- It's a special effect item that spices up the monster's appearance when it enters the battle.

The item can be equipped like the transmogrification effect in the World Arena.

When the siege battle season ends, all guild members will receive a certain amount of items, which will be determined based on the guild's grade. One effect item can be equipped on one monster.

The effect items can be applied to the monsters from the Transmogrification Building and the items can be used permanently after acquisition.

Siege Battle Background A

 

- It's a time limited item that changes the background of the defense monster deck, allowing the monsters to fight in the exclusive background.

 

- Backgrounds of 4 grades will be provided based on the siege battle tournament ranking. 

 

- The background is a guild reward, and the background will be applied to the next season siege battle of that guild automatically.

 

: The siege battle background can only be obtained as the siege battle tournament reward. The backgrounds will be automatically applied in all siege battles of the next season. The background will be changed or removed based on the guild's season grade in the next season. 

 

: For instance, if [Com2uS] guild achieves the Legend title in season 1, the guild will have the background A applied during the siege battle season 2.

After that, if [SW Dev Team] guild achieves the Legend title in season 2, [SW Dev Team] guild will have the background A applied during the siege battle season 3.

(For [Com2uS] guild, a background that corresponds to their season 2 records will be applied in season 3.)

 

- One more thing! When the siege battle background is applied, the siege battle base images will also be changed. The following image shows the bases of the background C.

 

 

Background A - D will also have their unique background and base designs, so please stay tuned.

 

- In case of siege battle season rewards, a condition of [guild members having to have joined the guild and played in for 1 month or more based on the season closing time] will be applied. (Crystals and Guild Points included)

 

Lastly, we will talk about the changes on the victory point acquisition system.​

 

▶ Victory Point System Improvement

 

- Victory point acquisition system will be changed as follows.

: The existing siege battle victory point system where the winning guild earns victory points and the losing guilds lose victory points will be changed to a system where the guilds do not lose victory points but acquire victory points and accumulate them.

When the changed siege battle starts, guilds will not lose their victory points from losing. Each guild will accumulate victory points during one season.

Please refer to the table below for a better understanding.

 


 

2nd and 3rd place guilds will earn a small amount of victory points. The victory point table above is an example when the guilds of similar victory points are matched. If the difference between victory points of the guilds increases, the points that guilds earn will be adjusted accordingly.

 

In addition, due to the victory point acquisition system change, the victory point compression method, which will take place on May 16th, will be slightly different from the current method. Please refer to the table below for the starting points for siege battle season 1.

 


 

Based on the 1,300pts given to the Legend guild, the points are adjusted by 1 point each for top 2 - 100 guilds (Guardian 3 - 2). The victory points of guilds with lower grades (Guardian 1 - Challenger) will be adjusted by 25 points for each grade (from 1,175pts to 1,000pts).

 

The point compression method is a one-time special rule and a separate rule will be applied for point compression afterwards.​
